Where to Start |

  • Gaia School of Herbal Healing (Plant Spirit & Western Herbalism)
  • Create a stock of simples.
  • Make basic monographs from what you’ve learned in class to be expanded up later.
  • Read widely.
  • Build a habit of making flashcards for the plants and relevant terminology.

Books:


Intermediate |

  • Depending on the path you want to pursue (family practice, clinical practice, researcher etc.) You should start researching where to study and what you need to prepare in advance.
  • A good understanding of anatomy is important at this level.
  • Expand your monographs for your practice and reference. Use outside sources and journal articles, including PubMed.
  • Practice creating your own blends.
  • Research the AHG and it’s education requirements. Start keeping a log of your study outside of classes etc.
  • Decide on your focus area (Ayurveda, Traditional Western Herbalism, Traditional Chinese Herbalism etc.)
  • Register for the AHG Virtual Symposium
